Whether it’s natural crystals, crystal jewelry, or crystal home decor, we want to ensure that your crystal beauties stay as beautiful and sparkling as when you received them! To ensure your stone & crystal collection stays well-cared for and continues to provide high-vibe healing energy, we recommend you follow the guidance we’ve provided below. There are several ways to show your crystal beauties TLC and we are happy to share with you the dos and don'ts of crystal care!
Natural Stones & Crystals
A lot of stones & crystals are pretty durable. However, there are some that are fragile and/or water-soluble. When cleaning your natural beauties, we recommend dusting your unpolished stones & crystals on a regular basis if you can. This will help them stay bright and beautiful at all times. Know that dust will not harm your beauties.
Some natural stones & crystals are a little more challenging to care for because of vugs and crevices. The best and easiest way to take care of these types of crystals is to use a soft toothbrush with warm soapy water. NOTE: There are several stones & crystals that are not water-safe or water-soluble. Click here to view our Crystal + Water Guide. For stones & crystals that have smooth surfaces, like points or simple clusters, you can use a soft cloth or microfiber cloth to wipe them down.
Polished Stones & Crystals
Polished stones & crystals are super easy to take care of. You can follow the same guidance given for natural stones & crystals. Another technique is using lemon essential oil or eco-friendly dish detergent mixed with warm water on polished stones & crystals that may have a sticky residue on them. Again, please make sure to review the list of crystals that are water-soluble or not safe to get wet.
Another note of caution we’d like to pass along is to keep certain crystals out of direct sunlight for very long periods of time (years) to keep the colors vibrant. These include Amethyst, Ametrine, Aventurine, Apatite, Aquamarine, Beryl, Citrine, Celestite, Kunzite, Sapphire, Fluorite, Rose Quartz, and Smokey Quartz.
Crystal Lamps
The allure that stone & crystal lamps provide is bar-none. Seeing the warm glow of incandescent light coming through the crystal is truly an experience. Plus the heat from the bulb pushes their amazing energy out into the space where they are placed. How cool is that?! We want to ensure their continuous beauty as well as your safety. Depending on what kind of lamp you have will determine how you care for it. For any lamp, please ensure it is unplugged before cleaning it.
If you have a crystal cluster lamp or smooth lamp follow the guidelines for natural stones & crystals. Make sure the crystals or stone is 100% dry before plugging it back in. If you have a salt lamp, it’s okay to use a slightly wet paper towel or microfiber cloth to remove any loose salt residue. Do not put your salt lamp on top of electronics, like microwaves, TVs, or speakers. This is to prevent any moisture from your lamp from sweating into your electronics. To prevent your salt lamp from sweating keep it on for at least 16-24 hours a day, every day.
Crystal Jewelry
Wearing natural stone & crystal jewelry is a fabulous way to keep all the healing energy with you throughout the day. We care about the quality of jewelry we provide you and we know you do too! Here are some tips to keep those earrings, pendants, bracelets, and necklaces looking marvelous all the time. Use a polishing cloth to clean and shine your sterling silver settings. You can also use a polishing cloth to clean any polished stones & crystals.
To spruce up your natural stone & crystal rings, you can use a soft toothbrush that is slightly wet to get out any debris that may be lodged in between clusters or in any vugs/crevices. We recommend not wearing your jewelry in the ocean. The saltwater will start to wear down any protective coating that may be used on your jewelry. For stretch bracelets, the saltwater will eventually wear away the stretch cord. Be sure to take jewelry off before you put on lotion or sunblock.
