7 Crystals Every Teacher & Childcare Worker Needds

Working with children is a difficult but rewarding job. Teachers, home-schoolers, early childhood educators (ECE), and childcare workers are molding the minds of the future. The work can be stressful, and oftentimes they aren’t given the recognition they truly deserve. But we all know how important teachers and ECEs are to the families and children they support.

And so when they are looking for a bit of support, it’s great to be able to offer that help.

That’s where healing crystals come in! There are some amazing crystals that can support teachers and ECEs. Whether you need help with a bit of energy to get you through the day or your immune system needs a boost to keep those kiddo germs at bay, some crystals can help!

I’ve rounded up 7 amazing crystals that every teacher, home-schooler, ECE, and childcare worker needs to keep them safe, calm, and protected on the job.

1. Amethyst

It doesn’t matter if you’re teaching preschoolers, high schoolers, or kids somewhere in between, you’re bound to feel some stress. I’d say most jobs come with their fair share of stress, but teaching 20-30+ kids at a time, sometimes virtually, sometimes in person, definitely brings on feelings of anxiety and overwhelm. I always recommend teachers work with Amethyst—this beautiful purple crystal has peaceful, calming energy that is also known to be extremely healing. Think about wearing a piece of Amethyst jewelry throughout the day or keep a piece in your classroom to let the kids benefit from the calming energy as well!

2. Fluorite

Papers to grade, assignments to schedule, lesson plans to plan, homework to arrange—a lot goes into teaching. If you find your mind tends to wander and get distracted while you are working (in the class with the kids or when you are lesson planning), Fluorite helps bring focus to your mind. Another great crystal for both you and your students, Fluorite also helps you retain large amounts of information—so if your class has a big test coming up give the kids a leg up with a bit of Fluorite in the room!

3. Satin Spar Selenite

Depending on where you work, each year you may have a new classroom and you’ll have a whole new group of children in your class. I love the idea of starting the year off with Satin Spar Selenite in your classroom—this super clearing crystal is amazing for cleansing your space of any negativity. To that end, you can also keep Satin Spar Selenite in the entryway of your home to help keep it clear and free of negativity. This works wonders if you’ve had a particularly difficult day and want to leave the stress and negativity behind. You can also use it to clear the other crystals you use in your daily life!

4. Rose Quartz

When I think back to my teachers, those that had the biggest impact on my life all had the same two qualities: love and compassion. They were able to show me that they loved their jobs, loved the kids they worked with and had compassion for the little humans sitting behind those desks. But our love and compassion are not an endless well that can be tapped over and over again without being refilled. Rose Quartz, the stone of universal love, is the perfect companion for any teachers who are looking to refill their love cup. Working with Rose Quartz helps you connect with compassion and unconditional love for all—wonderful things to have as a teacher and, really, as a human!

5. Sodalite

Sodalite is a great crystal for teachers of younger kids. So, if you’re an early childhood educator, a preschool teacher, or a kindergarten teacher, this one's for you! Sodalite eases separation anxiety—I’ve got your attention now, right!? Keep a piece of this blue beauty in your classroom to help kids who have a hard time being away from their mom or dad. Sodalite is also a great stone to help with concentration and clear thought, which are both amazing qualities to foster in the classroom!

6. Orange Calcite

You spend your days working alongside kids—and kids take a lot of energy! This isn't a bad thing, it’s just the truth. So as a professional working with kids, it’s a great idea to find a crystal that can give you more energy. When you need an energetic boost, Orange Calcite is a great choice. This beautiful ray of sunshine brings the energy of the sun to you. It is a great mood booster and is full of uplifting, joyful energy.

7. Shungite

It’s a known fact that kids are germ magnets and when you put 20-30 of them in a room together, things are bound to get complicated. That’s why a strong immune system is so important for teachers and childcare workers. Shungite is an amazing stone to give your immune system a much-needed boost. Keep it in your classroom to help the kiddos out, too! Shungite is also a powerful protector against EMFs that come from electronics like cellphones, laptops, and tablets.
