The Healing Properties of Sodalite

If you are looking for a crystal to help you be your very best self, then it’s time to introduce you to Sodalite. This beautiful blue crystal is all about opening up and expressing yourself—even when that makes you feel a bit uncomfortable.

Sodalite’s energy is calming and soothing which makes it a great crystal to keep with you each day—Sodalite jewelry is a great way to harness this energy throughout the day to keep your mind and body at ease.

If you’re ready to tap into your intuition and communicate with renewed clarity, then you are ready for Sodalite!

The geological properties of Sodalite

One of the more rare crystals, Sodalite is a rock-forming mineral that belongs to tectosilicates, a group of minerals that make up only 3% of the earth’s crust. (Fun fact: the most commonly occurring minerals make up 90% of the earth’s crust and there is just a handful of them!)

Sodalite occurs in igneous rocks—rocks that are formed when molten rock material becomes solid— that have been created from sodium-rich magmas. So any volcanoes that boost high levels of sodium in their magma are the perfect place to create Sodalite.

Sodalite is well-known for its stunning blue to blue-violet color—its stunning color is what makes it such a sought-after crystal.

Only discovered in the 19th century, Sodalite made its first appearance in remote areas of Greenland. Since then, Sodalite has been found in the United States (in Maine and Arkansas), northern Namibia, Canada (in Ontario and British Columbia), Brazil, and Russia.

The meaning of Sodalite

As a Throat Chakra (5th chakra) and Third Eye Chakra (6th chakra) crystal, Sodalite is a very powerful tool to help you with your communication and to tap into your inner vision.

Sodalite is an extremely powerful Third Eye Chakra crystal—it helps you tap into the guidance that can only be perceived via your mind’s eye and boost your intuition. Sodalite allows you to see yourself in relation to the rest of the universe and understand that while it is vast, you are connected to it and play an important role in it. This beautiful blue stone is said to awaken any insights you have about yourself and it is the perfect stone to meditate with.

Working with Sodalite will allow you to communicate what you are truly feeling instead of just saying what is easy or most acceptable. It boosts your self-esteem which gives you the inner strength to clearly and confidently speak your truth. And Sodalite helps to remind you to think before you speak to help avoid miscommunications and misunderstandings.

Sodalite has a calming energy that helps to keep your mind clear—this clarity opens your mind up to more logical thinking and problem-solving that may otherwise have been missed by a busy, crowded mind. It also helps you focus and concentrate thanks to its Third Eye energetic properties.

This blue beauty is sometimes called The Poet’s Stone because it shows you the beauty in the world and gives you the words to communicate that beauty in the most eloquent ways. It’s a great stone for writers as it inspires you to let your creativity flow through your pen (or keyword!).

Finally, Sodalite is a great crystal for positive thinking and seeing the best in other people. Just like Sodalite can help you see the best in yourself, it can also help you focus on the good qualities in others.

How to use your Sodalite

As I mentioned before, Sodalite is a great stone for writers. But it is a great choice for any creatives—it helps bring your creativity to the surface, has a calming effect, and can increase your self-esteem.

A great way to benefit from Sodalite is by wearing it. When this crystal is in your energy field, your body can directly absorb its energy. Plus, when you are wearing a piece of jewelry, you get the benefit of having that energy with you all day! Whether you choose a Sodalite pendant, bracelet, or necklace, Sodalite’s beauty will shine through.

Sodalite is an amazing stone to meditate with as it helps you open up your Third Eye. Because of its deep connection with the Third Eye Chakra, meditating with Sodalite can help you tap into your intuition. Consider using a Sodalite touchstone while you are meditating to receive visual guidance in your mind’s eye.

If you want to keep Sodalite with you all day but aren’t a jewelry type of person, a fidget stone is a great option. Keep it in your pocket or purse throughout the day and touch the crystal anytime you want to connect with Sodalite’s energy.

The calming nature of Sodalite makes it a great addition to any bedroom. Place it on your bedside table and let Sodalite help lull you into a wonderful night’s sleep. I can’t wait to hear how you’re using Sodalite in your life. Drop a comment below and let me know what is your favorite way to use Sodalite.
